St. Kitts and Nevis Passports
The St. Kitts and Nevis passport is primarily a travel document issued by the Government of Saint Christoper (St. Kitts) and Nevis that certifies the identity and nationality of its holder for the purpose of international travel. The passport is however accepted in the Federation and elsewhere as reliable proof of identity other than for travel purposes.
Information Contained in the Passport
St. Kitts and Nevis passports contain information about the holder's name, place and date of birth, photograph, signature, and other identifying information.
The passports are e-passports with bio metric data contained in a microchip embedded in the document, making them machine readable and difficult to counterfeit.
Validity Period and Right to Renew
Unless otherwise stated, a St. Kitts and Nevis Passport is valid for ten years and a Citizen has the right to renew his passport upon its expiration but it remains the property of the Government and may be withdrawn at any time.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Passport has 26 pages that can be used for local and foreign immigration authorities to affix Visas as well as entry and exit stamps. It may therefore fill up well before the date of its expiration.
Citizens of the Federation who are also Citizens of foreign countries cannot avail themselves of the protection of the representative of the Federation, against the authorities of that foreign country, and are not exempt by reason of possessing the Citizenship of the Federation from any obligation (such as military service) to which they may be liable under foreign law.
A person having some connection with a Commonwealth or foreign country (e.g. by birth, by descent through either parent, by marriage or by residence) may be a national of that country, in addition to being a national of the Federation. Acquisition of the nationality of the Federation by a foreigner does not necessarily cause the loss of nationality of origin.
Visa Free Travel
Citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis do not require Visas to visit 120 countries and another 16 counties issue Visas on arrival.
